EIAPI Holds
Technical Seminar
As part of its planned activities for year 2002, the association
successfully conducted its first technical seminar/workshop
for the year last May 22 and 23, at the Advanced Science and
Technology Institute at UP Diliman. Topic was "Microcontroller
Programming and Interfacing". Some twenty engineers from
member and non-member companies attended the two-day hands-on
workshop.
IPO Director-General
Graces 2nd GMM
Atty. Emma Francisco,
Director General of the Intellectual Property Office, was
guest speaker at the association's 2nd GMM which
was held last May 2nd at Manila Galleria Suites.
She presented and discussed at length the programs of IPO.
The IPO, which is directly under the Office of the President
of the Philippines, was created in 1998 with the passing of
Republic Act 8293, more commonly referred to as the IP Code
of the Philippines, and is responsible for IP registration
and IPR protection
